Smoking has negative effects on the reproductive system as well as on all body systems. There is a decrease in ovarian functions, entering menopause at an earlier age, an increased risk of miscarriage, preterm labor and an increase in the risk of giving birth to a low birth weight baby. Smoking during pregnancy prevents the baby from feeding through the placenta and low birth weight babies are born. In the treatment of infertility, there are treatment failures as it has a negative effect on ovulation functions. We recommend that it be stopped before infertility treatment. Smoking negatively affects sperm count and motility, and can even cause sperm DNA damage.
